When Dali met his wife, Gala, she was married to the poet Paul Eluard. Dali and her went on a walk one day while they were all at a summer house, and they came to this rocky outcropping. Dali said “I wish I could throw you off”, and she responded “Then do it”. He didn’t and thus gained a glorious muse. When Gala died, she fell down some stair, and was possibly pushed. Some people believe Dali finally had the courage to do it, but in doing it he destroyed himself.
